Seedrs is an equity crowdfunding platform, headquartered in East London’s Tech City, founded by Jeff Lynn and Carlos Silva in 2012 as part of an MBA project at the Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford. They are the leading online platform for investing in the equity of startups and other growth companies in Europe and has been named the most active investor in private companies in the UK.

Seedr allows all types of investors to invest in businesses they believe in and share in their success and allow all types of growth-focused businesses to raise capital and business community in the process. The company does all of this through a simple, highly professional, online process that protects and empowers investors while helping businesses grow and generate returns.

In May 2012, Seedrs became the first equity crowdfunding platform to receive regulatory approval from the Financial Conduct Authority. The Woodford Investment Management & Augmentum Fintech are the lead investors of the company. In June 2017, they became the first equity crowdfunding platform to allow investors to buy and sell shares in unlisted companies by launching a secondary market. The equity crowdfunding platform is gaining huge popularity among entrepreneurs and investors in the UK. SuperCarers, Wealthify, Mindful Chef, GeoDB are some of the popular startups which seedrs has helped in raising funds.

In 2020, Seedrs announced that 250 startups had raised funding through its crowdfunding platform. Seedrs has raised a total of $71.3M in funding over 15 rounds so far.
